Last March 19, we've announced that we've redesigned W@W with a brand new look in preparation of our 10th anniversary in 2009. That's actually what we've been busy with for the past several weeks now. It's still a work-in-progress though. We're keeping this old design in the meantime for posterity. But this would be the last update you'll see in this section as we'll continue our blogging in the new site template. Click here to see and read about our site makeover.

18 MARCH 2008 It's just about ready....
We're cooking up something which we hope to be ready sooner than you think. It has the same goodness you've learned to love all these years but presented in a fresher way in preparation for a very special occasion. We're not whetting your appetite. We promise to give you a taste of things to come very soon. :)

17 MARCH 2008 Mums & Pup!
Last year, we've featured some not-so-typical bridal bouquets for our PrepTalk column. Our recent multiply blog hopping led us to this cutesy doggie made of white Malaysian Mums with button eyes and nose. It was an inspired creation by event stylist Teddy Manuel for a photo shoot for Metro Weddings. He calls it a "doggie bag" to be carried by the little flower girls. But who says dog-loving brides cannot have one for herself? Flower pup, girls?

14 MARCH 2008 AVP Week '08: Finale - Rock & Feel!
For our final video, we saved the one that literally rocks! The music utilized by Playback for this AVP is something totally unexpected. It's a heavy metal track "Ladies & Gentlemen" by a band who grossly call themselves Salivahahaha! But the song tied-in well with how this video is presented. It retained the characteristic wedding feel but with an edge. You may noticed that clip is watermarked with phoebenteocson.com at the end. Bim said it's still Playback only with zero sugar (read their announcement here). We agree that this wedding video is saccharine-free. See it for yourself!

13 MARCH 2008 AVP Week '08: Day 4 - No Second Takes
Today's AVP by Director's Cut wittingly differentiates a wedding shoot from other professional video productions. Event documentation indeed requires no script, no storyboard, no rehersal, no casting calls, and definitely no second takes. There are some fantastic shots in this video montage. The backshot of the bride as her veil floats in slowmo is one. The rows of crystal vases that seem to make way as the camera zooms in another bride is also notable. Even the cameo appearance of a familar face filling up the screen with her bouquet is a nice touch at the end. Check it out.

12 MARCH 2008 AVP Week '08: Day 3 - Heartfelt & Poetic
It's plain coincidence that Wednesdays of previousAVP Weeks seem to have been 'reserved' to the W@Wies' 'flavor-of-the-moment.' But if there's anyone in this week's lineup deserving of that tag, it has to be Chug Cadiogan of Reel Deal Video. If the music determines how one should feel while watching an AVP, then this one should tug the heart. He inserted words which tied this video montage into one single poignant message. It's actually a verse taken from a song "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds. But in the wedding context, the words could have been the groom's talking to his bride; or is it Chug's message to the W@Wies? Let's take a look.

11 MARCH 2008 AVP Week '08: Day 2 - 30 Frames/Second
True to form, today's featured video by 30fps(that's frames per second) is how a W@W AVP Week submisson came to be known: cinematic and heart-pounding scoring, glide shooting, grooms' crying, fast-paced editing, and fireworks bursting for a dramatic finalé. All the ingredients for a short presentation that's never boring. Watch our Tuesday's clip.

10 MARCH 2008 AVP Week '08: Day 1 - Wedding Cinema
A colored bouquet in a black & white image may be easy to manipulate in Photoshop, but we could imagine the painstaking effort involved to capture that same effect in a moving video. That's what Clyde Villegas did with this video he especially made for this year's W@W AVP Week. We first heard of Clyde's name around this same time last year and after seeing his all-text video teaser, we then invited him to particpate for last year's lineup. Though he's used to corporate videos, he felt he wasn't ready that time, though we honestly felt otherwise. His AVP submission here proves what this guy can do. Notice how he manipulates still photos into 3D images by subtle panning and zooming that 'moves' the subject's backgrounds/foregrounds. We like the easygoing 'feel' of this AVP. Watch it here.

07 MARCH 2008 Sugar Art!
If you're looking for sweet alternatives to a wedding cake or you want to have a dessert station looking like a work of art, then this might just be the one you're looking for. Chef Frederic Scailteur of Taste of Art French Pastry just arrived here in Manila a few months ago. His credentials are mentioned in this Inquirer feature. His sugar confection are blown and hand-pulled and shaped elegantly to form flowers and swans. You may view this youtube video presentation to see his other sweet confections. You may direct inquiries at 0915.293.6935 or email at frscailteur@yahoo.com.

05 MARCH 2008 Hot Air Balloon Weddings Record Attempt
(Press Release - Chang Mai, Thailand) Just after dawn on Saturday morning (March 8), 16 hot air balloons will lift 14 couples, plus members of the press and media, high above the city. A registrar in each balloon will conduct an official wedding ceremony in the sky. The record-breaking “Weddings in the Air” attempt, to be certified by “Ripley’s, Believe it or Not” is expected to draw a large number of media representatives and spectators, turn thousands of heads skywards, and probably bring early morning traffic to a halt. As a warm up, there will be early morning untethered balloon launches over the city on the 5th and 6th March. (Read more...)

03 MARCH 2008 Somber times call for peaceful reflections
As the wedding industry still mourns over the loss of a very dear friend, we at W@W decided to postpone the holding of this year's AVP Week until the week after Mr. Paulo Clemente is finally laid to rest. The holding of the AVP Week has always been a fun experience for us and its postponement is but a simple gesture of respect to Papa Pau's memory. A Requiem Mass is scheduled tomorrow (Tuesday) at 10AM in the St. Lorenzo Ruiz Room (2nd floor) of the St Peter's Chapel in Quezon Ave. A funeral convoy follows heading to Himlayang Pilipino in Tandang Sora, Quezon City for his interment.
